The Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) and Full Service mail preparation was developed and recently implemented by the USPS in an effort to give customers greater visibility into the mailstream. OneCode Confirm combines the capabilities of the POSTNET and PLANET barcodes with additional data into a single barcode.

IMB & Full Service Processing At-A-Glance:
The Intelligent Mail barcode (formerly known as the 4 State Customer Barcode) is the next generation of USPS barcode technology used to sort and track letters and flats.  Applying the IMB to a mail piece with Full Service processing allows customers to additional postal benefits:

  • Maximum Postal Discounts
  • Start the clock and postal reporting
  • Free ACS (Address Change Service)

Confirm Service provided by United Mail allows customers to identify and receive mail-processing data for both outgoing and incoming mail pieces.  This service provides customers with near real-time data concerning their First-Class Mail, Periodicals, and Standard Mail letters and flats.

Courier Journal Article On December 16th, 2011 the Courier Journal posted an inaccurate article about United Mail. The title of the article was "JCPS admits test score mix-up". The attached letter from JCPS (our customer) tells the accurate story about the error in the ACT mailing. It is unfortunate that the media delivered inaccurate information and even mentioned United Mail in the article. »
