Manufacturing Maintenance Technician(Print/Mail Experience Preferred)

SUMMARY
The Lettershop Manufacturing Maintenance Technician ensures that all machines are running at peak efficiency through proper set-up, adjustment, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs.
Manufacturing Maintenance Technician RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identify and perform corrective actions on equipment relating to production and or safety. Including but not limited to MBO folder, Pitney Bowes FlowMaster Inserters, Bell & Howell Swingarm Inserters, MCS Inkjets and Perfect Match System, Kurk-Rudi bases, Baummer Glue System and Pressure Sealers.
  • Recommending and maintaining equipment tools, parts and supplies
  • Proficiently setup mail manufacturing equipment including but not limited to MBO folder, Pitney Bowes FlowMaster Inserters, Bell & Howell Swingarm Inserters, MCS Inkjets and Perfect Match System, Kurk-Rudi bases, Baumer Glue System and Pressure Sealers.
  • Effectively communicate state of equipment and any work being performed on equipment to management.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used in accordance with United Mail procedures.
  • Maintain a high degree of quality in all work performed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Manufacturing Maintenance Technician QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years electronic and mechanical maintenance experience on automated manufacturing equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read and write English
  • Trade school preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to quickly learn machine operations
  • Previous experience in the print, direct mail, bindery, and/or fulfillment industry with FlowMaster Inserters and/or MCS Systems preferred.
  • Previous participation on a safety team and/or other safety training a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and stoop for up to 8 hours

 

Machine Operators, Louisville, KY

Hours:
1st: Monday-Friday  6am-2:30pm, weekend and OT as needed

2nd: Monday – Friday 2:30 pm – 11 pm

SUMMARY

The Machine Operator manufactures and processes mailing materials and finished mail at the highest level of quality and productivity possible. Thoroughly following instructions and keeping accurate documentation of all work produced.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Process mail by hand in accordance with United Mail and USPS procedures.
  • Proficiently operate and perform basic troubleshooting on a variety of mail manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiently setup mail manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain a high degree of quality in all work performed
  • Effectively communicate status of work being performed to management.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used in accordance with United Mail procedures.
  • As assigned by Lettershop Supervisor will assist in the fulfilling and processing of orders.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to stand for 7.5 hours
  • Able to read fine print
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs. max
  • Able to lift 30 lbs. in repetition

Sorters, Louisville, KY

Hours:
1st:  6am-6pm, 3 days on/3 days off

2nd: 6pm to 6am, 3 days on/3 days off

SUMMARY

General knowledge of United States Postal Services (USPS) directives pertaining to Automation Compatible Mail, general operating knowledge of the Multiline Optical Character Reader (MLOCR) mail sorter/bar coding machine; and ability to maintain attention to detail to meet quality assurance standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Removes mail pieces from MLOCR sorting bins, verifies bar code integrity, Zip Code sort accuracy, proper dates and trays or bundles processed pieces.
  • Prepares tray labels in accordance with USPS destination/distribution listing and conducts self-inspection to validate piece counts.
  • Loads mail trays onto non-motorized carriers, verifies total tray counts, secures and placards carriers and otherwise coordinates the loading of processed mail for shipment to the USPS acceptance facility.
  • Hand sorts mail pieces which are not compatible for automatic processing; assist supervisory personnel in maintaining required inventories of supplies, equipment and other processing materials.
  • Responsible for compliance with company personnel and safety policies and informs supervisory personnel of deficiencies.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Machine Operator, Training Provided, Cincinnati, OH

Job description

Operates inkjet and mailing machine inserting equipment on the production floor, during the assigned time frames, to the established quality standards. Primary responsibilities include equipment operation, mail sortation  completion of production paperwork and maintenance of a clean work area, as well as other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Production Supervisor.  Requires flexibility to work overtime and various shift schedules as needed.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Perform proper machine start-up and shut down procedures.
    • Complete jobs scheduled for the assigned equipment according to the work orders and sample board, within the established time frames for each job.
    • Insure that equipment has adequate supplies to complete full production.
    • Operate assigned equipment according to the work orders and sample boards, within the established quality standards and at the rated speeds for each job with minimal supervision.
    • Reads, reviews and interprets instructions on sample board using key information for set ups and operations, including trouble shooting and correction as necessary.
    • Checks and verifies job components against sample board to codes and other key information and indicators.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work area at all times.
    • Maintain, complete, and verify paperwork for each production run documenting: production run time, spoilage, down time, maintenance sheets, postal information, meter readings, and other production logs as directed by supervisor.
    • Checks accuracy of paperwork pertaining to job, including counts, tray tags, box labels, samples and seeds.
    • Sort, tray, strap and prepare finished mail pieces in compliance with U.S. Postal regulations.
    • Adhere to policies and guidelines pertaining to confidentiality, security, safety and professional conduct.
    • Other duties as assigned.

  • Mechanical aptitude a definite plus.
